Campaign group Scotland Against Drugs called for more support services and warned against infringing human rights.Yes, there would be an infringement of human rights, but not quite in the way suggested by Scotland Against Drugs. I don't think that anyone is saying that women should be forced to take contraception, so their rights wouldn't be infringed. But the rights of taxpayers would be infringed by the additional public expenditure that this plan would necessitate.
Here's a better idea: Instead of paying women not to have children, why not stop paying them to have children?
